Georgia to Receive More Tobacco Settlement Money; Probably Won’t Spend it on Stop Smoking Programs

In the coming year, Georgia could receive an extra $56 million from the 1998 settlement of a multi-state lawsuit against four major tobacco companies. 

But, as WABE’s Denis O’Hayer reports, the money probably won’t go to state programs to help people stop smoking.
