UPS Reaffirms Commitment to Service Members

UPS reiterated its support for employees who serve in the military. The company signed a statement of support for the Guard and Reserve on Tuesday.

UPS chairman and CEO Scott Davis signed the statement in a special ceremony. Davis says it reaffirms the company’s commitment to allowing employees to both serve in the Guard and Reserve while also retaining their positions at UPS.

“It gives us a chance to say thank you to more than 23, 500 employees who have served or are now serving in the military.”

It’s a thank you to people like UPS employee and Georgia Army Guard Pfc. Brittany Wynn. Wynn says in the past 18 months the company has supported her during military training and her monthly commitment to the Guard.

“My job was waiting for me and I picked right back up like I’ve never been gone.”

Guardsmen and reservists make up 7.5 percent of UPS’ workforce, and the company recently showed a 35 percent increase in veteran hires from the previous year.
