Data from the University of California Santa Cruz suggests that Black business ownership is now up by almost 30% on pre-pandemic levels, and Black women entrepreneurs are leading the way.

Despite being the fastest-growing group of female entrepreneurs in the U.S., they still face many challenges.

On a recent edition of “Closer Look,” Andrew McCaskill, a LinkedIn Career, Culture and Economics Expert, talked with program host Rose Scott about a recent poll conducted by YouGov for LinkedIn.

The poll gathered information from more than 1,000 Black women entrepreneurs in the U.S to find how they were fairing amid the pandemic.

Kemi Bennings, the owner of the Atlanta-based vegan restaurant Carrot Dog, and Lisa Bobb, the founder of Squash Blossom Boutique, also talked with Rose about navigating their businesses amid the pandemic.
