Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theater is staging the Atlanta premier of playwright August Wilson’s final work—a biographical reenactment of his life told in a one-man show. Called How I Learned What I Learned, the show shares some of the origins of Wilson’s critically-acclaimed plays—shows such as “Fences,” “The Piano Lesson,” and “Radio Golf.”

Eugene Lee, the actor who stars in the show, and director Todd Kreidler sat down with WABE’s Lois Reitzes to talk about working with Wilson in the last years of his life to create what would become How I Learned What I Learned.

How I Learned What I Learned opens October 7 at Fulton County’s Southwest Arts Center and runs through November 2. More details at Atlanta PlanIt.
