Sen. Johnny Isakson Talks Iran Nuclear Negotiations, ISIS

Tuesday is the deadline for a preliminary deal with Iran over its nuclear program. The Iranians are negotiating with the U.S., European nations, Russia and China, trying to reach an agreement for a lifting of economic sanctions in exchange for limits on its nuclear program.

Earlier this month, 47 Republican U.S. Senators sent a letter to Iran’s leadership, warning that any deal with the Obama administration that does not receive Congressional approval could be changed or even voided by a future president or Congress. One of the GOP Senators who signed that letter was Georgia’s Johnny Isakson.

Rose Scott and Denis O’Hayer interviewed Isakson about the letter and more on Monday’s “A Closer Look.”
