A Georgia university has received a new name.
The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents made the change Tuesday, re-naming Georgia Regents University to Augusta University.
The system in 2012 merged Augusta State University and Georgia Health Sciences University. The name Georgia Regents University was selected, upsetting many in the Augusta area.
