MARTA Fares Rank Among Least Affordable City Transit Systems

Transit in Atlanta ranks among the least affordable of major cities surveyed, according to data from the Atlanta Regional Commission and Neighborhood Nexus.

On average, nearly three and a half hours per week of income goes toward a cash bus fare for a person earning minimum wage. That adds up to about $25 per week round trip.

MARTA buses and rail provide services to approximately 500,000 passengers each weekday.
