Wu-Tang Clan members reflect on their growing legacy, brotherhood and new book
Brotherhood, prophecy and legacy are just a few of the words that Wu-Tang Clan member Mathematics uses to describe Wu-Tang’s 30-year musical journey.
The story of the legendary rap group is the focus of Hulu’s scripted drama “Wu-Tang: An American Saga.”
The third and final season is set to drop in Feb. 2023.
In addition, as the 30th anniversary approaches of the rap icons’ “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” album, the group is releasing 36 copies of their new coffee table book titled “THE WU-TANG CLAN: LEGACY.”
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Wu-Tang Clan members Mathematics and Cappadonna and manager John Mook talked about their new book, Wu-Tang’s growing legacy, why and how they stayed united over the years and imprinting their hard-earned legendary mark on hip-hop.
Dr. Joycelyn Wilson, an assistant Hip Hop Studies and Digital Media professor at Georgia Institute of Technology, also joined the conversation and discussed the history of hip-hop and reflected on the influence of Wu-Tang’s lyrics and how they are now being used to drive innovative thinking.
