Traffic violence is climbing across the country.
The Governors Highway Safety Association ranks Georgia as among the most dangerous for pedestrians.
Data also show that the number of pedestrians killed by drivers doubled from 2020 to 2021.
That includes several deaths along one of the city’s safest corridors for walking and rolling: the BeltLine.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Atlanta City Councilmember Jason Dozier, representing District 4, spoke about newly proposed zoning legislation that would bring changes to the Atlanta BeltLine’s overlay.
He further explained why he feels BetLine development should be centered around people and not the vehicle that they may or may not have.
