Atlanta Author Melissa Fay Greene Champions ‘Underdogs’

Dogs have lived aside humans for thousands of years, but it is only in the last few decades that we’ve begun to understand the depth of intelligence, intuition and emotion in our canine companions.

The relationship between dogs and humans is the foundation of Melissa Fay Greene’s latest book, The Underdogs: Children, Dogs, and the Power of Unconditional Love.” The acclaimed Atlanta author interweaves scientific research and stories of family struggles, ultimately painting a portrait of 4Paws for Ability, a  service dog academy that places dogs with those in need, especially children.

Melissa Fay Greene joined Lois Reitzes on “City Lights” for a discussion of “The Underdogs” ahead of her appearance tonight at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta in Dunwoody.
