Nashville City Councilwoman fighting to stop the renaming of a street named after the late Congressman John Lewis

Two Republican Tennessee lawmakers have co-authored a bill that would rename two-tenths of a mile of Rep. John Lewis Way in Nashville to President Donald Trump Blvd.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Nashville City Councilwoman Zulfat Suara said that when the street was named after the late congressman, it brought the city together.
She further explained that she was speechless when she heard that the lawmakers were sponsoring the controversial bill.
“I think it’s important for people to say this is not what Nashville wants and we want them to stop this,” said Surara.
