Election 2016: Georgia’s Results

Is Georgia becoming a swing state? That will be discovered tonight, as Georgia voters take to the ballot box to choose the country’s new president.

As NPR reports, Georgia hasn’t supported a Democratic candidate for president since Bill Clinton barely won the state in 1992. Obama got within five points of taking the state in 2008, but the gap widened in 2012 to seven points. Now, with some polls showing a dead heat, Georgia’s changing demographics could be a factor. Still, NPR says, the GOP establishment is strongly entrenched in Georgia. No Democrat currently holds a statewide office.

NPR and the Associated Press have teamed up to get the closest results possible on WABE. Below you’ll find the results for all of Georgia’s counties, as well as NPR analysis. You can search the list by a number of factors including 2012’s results, area demographics, unemployment rates and more.
