What To Expect From Atlanta Bribery Scandal Document Release

As Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed prepared for a news conference about the developing bribery scandal at City Hall, one big question dominated everything else: who took money in exchange for city contract awards? The Reed administration is releasing more than a million pages of documents related to the case.
One construction company owner, E.R. Mitchell, has already pled guilty to spending more than a million dollars on bribes to win city contracts. Yesterday, federal prosecutors announced the indictment of another construction company owner, Charles Richards, on charges he paid at $185,000 in bribes. So far, there is no word on which city officials received the bribes.
Former DeKalb County District Attorney J. Tom Morgan, who prosecuted cases involving wrongdoing by public officials, said he does not expect the documents to answer the biggest questions, because the federal investigation is still going on. Morgan spoke with Denis O’Hayer on “Morning Edition.”
