Humans, nature, stillness and grace are revealed in the photos of this year’s Atlanta Celebrates Photography Emerging Artist Fellowship winner, Chelsea Mukenya. Her first solo exhibition, “Nyumbani,” at MINT Gallery, opening tomorrow (September 30). In this interview, photographer Chelsea Mukenya joins “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk more about her work and the cross-continental journeys that have inspired her.
“I think that it’s very important for me to have some kind of connection beyond just us doing a photoshoot and so I think that definitely helps in translating what I’m trying to get across,” Mukenya says.
