Flying Carpet Theatre Company Director Adam Koplan has regularly provided insight on “City Lights” on the Great American Songbook.

On Wednesday’s “City Lights,” host Lois Reitzes and Adam Koplan focused on two specific songs, “It’s Only a Paper Moon” (published in 1933 with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Yip Harburg and Billy Rose) and “My Favorite Things” (from the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “The Sound of Music”).

Koplan said that he wanted to give listeners a sense of “how dense and wonderful these songs are in terms of how much genius is packed into three minutes.”
