From balancing an annual budget to hiring a new superintendent, the Atlanta Board of Education has a busy year ahead.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” the board’s two newest members, Alfred ‘Shivy’ Brooks and Ken Zeff, talked about the role of the school board in a community and their priorities while serving.
The two also shared how they hope to use their backgrounds in education and advocacy within their new role, including Brooks as the first active teacher to sit on the board.
