R&B artist Wiley From Atlanta celebrates the city's essence through his music
On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Music,” local musicians share work and stories in their own voices. In today’s segment, we feature alternative R&B artist Wiley From Atlanta.
Wiley started making music in middle school, writing raps and recording verses without beats.
“I am motivated and inspired by my family, relationships in my life, by my environment [Atlanta] and by the South,” he said. “I think it’s hard to grow up here and not be influenced by this environment, especially if you make art.”
Wiley grew up in Atlanta and says the city’s rap scene is influential to the rest of the world.
