Atlanta artist Nicx Alexander creates music and vibes from lived experience

On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Music,” local musicians share work and stories in their own voices. In today’s segment, we feature producer, rapper, singer, and engineer Nicx Alexander. 

“I create the vibes,” Alexander says. “That’s kind of my whole purpose when I’m trying to make some music. Whatever emotion it is, whether it be happy, sad, turned up, introspective, I try to just capture the moment of whatever I’m in.”

Alexander is inspired by everything under the sun. “I’m a very observant person,” Alexander proclaims. “I just look at what’s around me, and I try to translate that into whatever artistic expression I feel suits me the best.”
