STORYCORPS ATLANTA

On July 31, Rosemary Magee and her husband, Ron Grapevine, celebrated 42 years of marriage, but it was back in 2010 that Ron was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.

There have been periods of slow decline of her husband’s cognitive traits and behaviors, but things have recently begun to accelerate.

In the StoryCorps Atlanta booth, Rosemary tells her friend, Becky Herring, about what things have been like for the past year.

This story was recorded in partnership with the Atlanta History Center, which hosts Atlanta’s StoryCorps Booth.
