Music Historian And Journalist Shares Top 10 Albums Of 2018

Macy Gray, Boy George, Mariah Carey, Janelle Monáe and Kylie Minogue all made Quentin Harrison’s list of Top 10 Albums of 2018.

This year saw a number of major album releases, from leading artists like Mariah Carey, Gorillaz, Janelle Monáe, Kylie Minogue, Elvis Costello, Robyn, Mitski, and many more.

With all of these musical icons, old and new alike, releasing new records, it’s not easy to sift through it all. Well, we’re here to help.

“Closer Look” invited local music historian and journalist Quentin Harrison to talk about the year in music. Harrison has a series of books called “Record Redux” that cover legendary groups such as The Spice Girls, Madonna, Carly Simon, and Donna Summer. His fifth book in the series, “Record Redux: Kylie Minogue”, is expected to be released in November 2019.
