About 3.7 million passengers are expected to fly through the World’s busiest airport in Atlanta for the holidays.

“That [holiday period] ran from last Sunday, Dec. 16 up until Wednesday, Jan. 2,” said Andy Gobeil, the spokesman for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The busiest travel day will be Wednesday, the day after Christmas.

“We expect to screen nearly 90,000 passengers coming through, and we should see well over 300,000 passengers in the airport itself that day,” Gobeil added. “So, it is going to be very busy.”

Gobeil said weather-related delays are always possible, and that could impact traffic.

So, he urged travelers to get to the airport early and monitor their airlines for updates.

Atlanta International Airport is also trying something new this year: moving the “Lyft and Uber Rideshare pick up” area closer to the terminals.

That change will start Saturday.
