ArtsATL’s Luminary Awards Highlight Excellence In Atlanta Art, Philanthropy

The Luminary Awards were created to recognize individuals and arts organizations that are contributing to the generosity, the diversity and innovation in the city. They’re given out by ArtsATL each year, and the 2019 honorees were announced in January.
The publication chooses both individuals and organizations in the categories of Arts Education, Philanthropic Legacy, Arts Innovation, Outstanding Leadership, and Community Engagement.

This year’s awards boast both long-time Atlantans and newcomers to the city, from philanthropists Howard and Victoria Palefsky, who have served on many arts boards in town, as well as underwriting the annual Collision Project at the Alliance Theatre, to Tiffany Latrice, founder of TILA Studios, whose work in giving African American women artists professional development opportunities has gotten the attention of Forbes and the New York Times.
