Atlanta Film Critics Make Their Oscar Predictions
Michael Clark and Felicia Feaster of the Atlanta Film Critics Circle joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk major categories for the Oscars.

The Academy Awards ceremony, the grand finale of awards season, takes place Sunday and ahead of the red carpet, Michael Clark and Felicia Feaster of the Atlanta Film Critics Circle joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to go through some of the major categories and give their predictions of how the night will go.
“The fun thing, I think, about the Oscars is no matter how much you try to game it and predict, it’s always a surprise,” Feaster says. “Even for seasoned, hardened professionals like ourselves.”

To make their predictions, Clark and Feaster recalled how nominees did in previous awards like the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs. But even while making educated guesses, Clark admits their predictions are more art than science.
“Let’s be clear, none of my picks, and I’m sure none of Felicia’s picks of actually who is going to win is who we want to win,” he says.
While calling Best Picture for the Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali film “Green Book,” Clark says he’d much rather see “The Favorite” or “A Star Is Born.”
“Here’s some food for thought,” Clark says, “the last film to win Best Picture without having a Best Director nomination—like ‘Green Book’ is—is ‘Argo.’ Before that, it’s ‘Driving Miss Daisy.’”
