Thanks to Tiger’s recent Augusta magic, and a schedule shift, officials with the TOUR Championship expect the 2019 spotlight on the East Lake Golf Club to be brighter than ever.
Organizers of the PGA’s season-ending golf tournament cheered along during Tiger Woods’ April 14 victory at the Master’s Tournament, as the win rocketed the 43-year-old legend from No. 81 to 13 in the FedExCup rankings. He currently ranks 16th. The top 30 money-leaders qualify for the TOUR Championship, which is also where the season champion is crowned.
Woods’ recent success in Georgia, which includes his historic East Lake win last April, has helped revitalize the golf industry, which saw viewership dip in the decade its biggest star struggled with injuries and off-the-course drama.
