The largest quilt show in Georgia is making its return to the Cobb County Civic Center this week. The show is presented by the East Cobb Quilters’ Guild and it will be held from June 6-8 with a gallery of 344 quilts on display.

This year will also showcase 50 quilt blocks created by K-12 students from cities throughout the Atlanta Region.  Both traditional and non-traditional quilts are judged by national certified judges.

“The judging is based on every kind of criteria ranging from workmanship, to the impact of the color, to the construction, to the complexity, and it’s a very involved process,” said the guild’s co-chairwoman Linda Bailey.

There will also be a Quilted Treasures silent auction and various workshops on how to maintain your sewing machine. Bed quilts, wall hangings, and various quilt decorations will be for sale by guild members.

City Lights’ host Lois Reitzes spoke with Linda Bailey about the annual event.
