Inaugural BookFest In Gwinnett Highlights Diverse Voices In Literature
Tayari Jones wrote the best-selling novel “An American Marriage.” She will be in Gwinnett this weekend at a new book festival.

The Atlanta Writers Club is presenting its inaugural book festival this Saturday in Gwinnett.
This year’s theme focuses on the diverse voices in literature. City Lights’ host Lois Reitzes spoke with George Weinstein, the president of the Atlanta Writers Club and co-director of the BookFest Gwinnett. The festival kicks off with Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon giving the keynote speech.
He and 11 other Atlanta writers will be speaking throughout the day on a diverse range of topics such as: race, gender, and sexuality.
The main stage will close out with bestselling author Tayari Jones, who wrote “An American Marriage.” The festivities will also include six workshops taught by professional writers. A young adult stage will also be set up to discuss graphic novels, sci-fi/fantasy, and other topics.
