How ‘Grounded’ Addresses The Complex Lives Of Military Drone Operators

George Brant’s award winning show, “Grounded,” takes viewers into the windowless trailer of a military drone operator. Portrayed by actress Courtney Moors, this one-woman show allows the audience to be a fly on the wall to the difficulties analysts go through on a daily basis.

The play follows The Pilot, an ex-fighter pilot turned military drone operator working in the deserts of Las Vegas. She hunts terrorists in the Middle East and tracks high-profile targets thousands of miles away from her location. By night, she returns to her family and tries to find a normal routine.

“To kind of realize regardless of where the pilot is stationed or if she is in the air or not, the ramifications are the same. The stresses and the trauma can be equally severe regardless,” said Moors.
