Wars can rewrite history, not only in terms of politics but sometimes with the erasure of cultural treasures. Such a loss threatens the art legacy of Ukraine, now three years at war with Russia.
A new exhibition at the Georgia Museum of Art, “The Awe of Ordinary Labors: 20th Century Paintings from Ukraine,” preserves and celebrates a chapter of prolific creativity from Ukrainian artists. The works are on view through June 1.
