The physical doors of public libraries across the country and right here in Atlanta are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gayle Hunter Holloman, executive director for the Fulton County Library System, says until further notice, all of its 34 library branches will remain closed and all of its upcoming events and programs have been postponed.

Holloman also says the library is waiving fines for overdue books and materials during the coronavirus outbreak.

FCLS staff are encouraging library cardholders to use online resources provided by the library such as Hoopla, Libby, Overdrive and Freegal.

Holloman recently joined “Closer Look” to explain what the Fulton County Library System is doing to provide resources and services to patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also explained how the organization is issuing and renewing library cards for Fulton County residents.
