Delta’s Empty Planes Causing Airliner To Temporarily Discontinue Flights

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is temporarily suspending flights to 10 U.S. airports including in Chicago, Boston and Oakland.

The airline says starting Wednesday it will fly to larger airports nearby. So instead of going to Chicago’s Midway they’ll go to O’Hare, or Oakland International passengers instead will fly to San Francisco.
The move follows safety protocols from Delta earlier this month requiring all passengers wear masks at boarding gates and for the duration of their flights.

“Stations will remain closed at least until September 2020, as Delta continues to evaluate overall network needs. Affected Delta employees will be provided pay protection options through Sept. 30, 2020,” Delta said in a news release.
