WABE’s “Sounds Like ATL” music documentary series explores Atlanta’s renowned music scene community. Each episode spotlights a local Atlanta musician, where viewers can hear about their creative process and watch them perform a couple of songs. The weekly segments are released on WABE’s YouTube channel every Wednesday. The first in this season’s episode spotlighted the Atlanta-based band Arkose. They are a blend of acid jazz, neo-soul, and hip-hop.

“People underestimate the talent pool in Atlanta, but there’s a lot going on. It’s great indie scene, great jazz scene, great funk scene,” said Noah Sills, the multi-instrumentalist in Arkose.

The band has a show at Aisle 5 on May 30. You can see their “Sounds like ATL” performance on YouTube here.
