Hope Boykin‘s career in dance is unmatched.
She is a three-time award winner from the American Dance Festival. She began as a student and intern at The Ailey School and has been with the company since 2000.
Highlights include the three works she choreographed for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater: “Acceptance in Surrender” in 2005, “Go in Grace” in 2008 and “r-Evolution Dream” in 2016. The latter is inspired by the speeches and sermons of Dr. Marin Luther King Jr.
Boykin joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about her career, the power that dance has and her latest work “We Dance.”
