Hope Boykin joined “City Lights” to talk about her career, the power that dance has and her latest work.

Hope Boykin‘s career in dance is unmatched.

She is a three-time award winner from the American Dance Festival. She began as a student and intern at The Ailey School and has been with the company since 2000.

Highlights include the three works she choreographed for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater: “Acceptance in Surrender” in 2005, “Go in Grace” in 2008 and “r-Evolution Dream” in 2016. The latter is inspired by the speeches and sermons of Dr. Marin Luther King Jr.
