Georgia Film Academy Creates Free ‘COVID-19 Compliance Course’ For Film Industry Workers

Georgians can take pride in the number of films made in the state as well as the number of jobs provided by that industry. As with so many businesses shuttered due to the global pandemic, our state’s normally booming filming industry has been on hold.
The Georgia Film Academy is trying to help the industry with their latest “COVID-19 Compliance Course.” A free online course for anyone involved in the film industry.
Jeffery Stepakoff is the executive director, and he joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes via Zoom to discuss their new course.
The Georgia Film Academy is a collaboration of the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia created to help educate and prepare young professionals in Georgia’s film and creative industries.
Founded in 2015, the GFA higher education program offers professional training and leads to union-covered film and television production craft internships and placement in creative industries, apprenticeships, and jobs.
The “COVID-19 Compliance Course” covers topics such as:
- Health and Safety
- Social Distancing and Reducing High-Touch Surfaces
- Avoid Contamination Outside of Work
- Contingency Plans and Procedures
- Health Policies at Work
