After eight years, it’s a new chapter for Atlanta City Councilmember Amir Farokhi.

Earlier this year, the councilman, who represents District 2, which includes Downtown, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Poncey-Highland and Candler Park, announced he wouldn’t seek re-election.

On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,”  Farokhi told show host Rose Scott that it has been an honor to serve and thanked his constituents.
