A youth ambassador for a local nonprofit says being a part of the organization has changed the trajectory of her life.

Isabella Caviness, who attends Westlake High School, joined 21st Century Leaders in April. She credits the organization — which provides year-round programs, training and summits for high school students — with giving her a platform to utilize her gifts and build confidence, all while preparing her for college.

“I wanted to become an example for others as a leader, and I wanted to help others in my community,” Caviness said.
