DECATUR, Ga. — The Decatur planters will live on, but this time in residents’ yards. The city auctioned off numerous planters online and in person, and sold about 134.

Around 50 people attended the live auction July 26 at Decatur Public Works with decorated bidding paddles in hand, ready to leave with a planter – or three. The highest bid was $175 for one planter.

Resident Erica Udell left with three planters – pink, teal and blue. She plans to put them in her yard.
