Two Atlanta Nonprofits Receive 2020 Bank Of America Neighborhood Builders Award

The Atlanta Beltline Partnership and Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship are among several nonprofits from across 50 communities throughout the United States awarded with the 2020 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders award.
Wendy Stewart, Bank of America’s Atlanta Market President, says a selection committee selects awardees for the competitive Neighborhood Builders program based on their proposal and commitment to addressing challenging economic mobility issues and creating community development solutions.
Over the course of the two-year program, Neighborhood Builders are given a $200,000 grant, one year of leadership training for the executive director and an emerging leader, plus access to a nationwide network of peer organizations that affords the nonprofits to expand their impact and increase their access to capital.
Burunda Prince, the COO of the Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Rob Brawner, the executive Director of Atlanta Beltline Partnership, joined Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look.”
During the virtual conversation, Prince and Brawner talked with show host Rose Scott about the mission and vision of their respective nonprofits and how the Atlanta-based organizations plan to use the funding and training to build stronger communities in Atlanta and address economic mobility challenges for underserved populations.
