Biden Administration Says It Will Boost Georgia’s Vaccine Supply To 146,000 Per Week

Georgia is about to start getting more COVID-19 vaccine doses.
The state’s weekly allotment is set to jump by more than 25,000 doses, to about 146,000, after moves this week from the Biden administration.
And although the Trump administration had previously withheld state-level reports from the public eye, and instead handed them to state officials, that’s about to change.
This week, President Joe Biden made those federal reports more easily accessible and included recommendations for states on what they could be doing better to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Georgia Department of Public Health has frozen annual leave for its approximately 7,000 full-time employees as the state embarks on this massive vaccination effort.
All this comes as multiple new variants of the coronavirus are circulating in the U.S.
