A New Podcast ‘Crossroads’ Explores The Journey Of Living

Actor’s Express has created a new serialized podcast described as an “adventurous story by people of color, about people of color and for people of color.”

Over seven episodes, “Crossroads” follows three friends who fantasize about the changes they’d make in their lives if given the opportunity to trade their souls.

Actor’s Express Artistic Director Freddie Ashley, “Crossroads” director Amanda Washington and Amina McIntyre, who wrote Episode 6, joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk about the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color)-centered project.

Washington expressed the importance of making such a unique podcast.

“I think the playwrights were able to put their lived experience into the characters without it always focusing on being colored in a situation but more so the intersectionality of life,” she said. “And so it just enriched the text by seeing people as fully dimensional and not just their color.”

You can hear every episode of “Crossroads” starting Feb. 26, on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Google Podcast and Spotify as well as on the Actor’s Express website.
