U.S. Rep. Bourdeaux Of Georgia Discusses Getting Republicans On Board With $1.9 Trillion Stimulus Bill

President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill passed the U.S. House on Saturday.
The U.S. Senate is expected to take up the legislation this week. Democrats are pushing to send the bill to Biden’s desk by March 14, when unemployment benefits are set to expire.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Carolyn Bourdeaux, of Georgia’s 7th Congressional District, voted to pass the legislation.
She told WABE’s “All Things Considered” host Jim Burress the package will help Georgians tread water during quarantine, but she admits getting Senate Republicans on board could lead to some tightening.
One way? Lower the threshold for those eligible for the $1,400 payout.
