Pandemic In Georgia: 1 Year Ago, First 2 COVID-19 Cases Were Reported In The State

Tuesday marks one year since the first two COVID-19 cases were reported in the state of Georgia.

Over the last 12 months, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health, more than 15,000 deaths and 800,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Georgia.

WABE health reporter and host of the podcast “Did You Wash Your Hands?” Sam Whitehead joined Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

During the virtual conversation, Whitehead talks with show host Rose Scott about covering the pandemic for the last 12 months.
