Gas Buddy: Thousands Of Stations Still Dealing With Gas Supply Issues, Ahead Of Memorial Day Weekend

You might have seen a constant barrage of tweets over the last few weeks from Gas Buddy, including updates on outages due to the Colonial Pipeline shutdown earlier this month.

Patrick De Haan is the man behind them, the company’s head of petroleum analysis.

He spoke with WABE’s “All Things Considered” host Jim Burress about Gas Buddy seeing significant improvement since the cyberattack on the Alpharetta-based company. That’s compared to when 45% of Georgia stations were out of gasoline on May 12.

But De Haan also told Burress that thousands of stations across the Southeast are still grappling with gas supply issues — just in time for an unprecedented surge in traffic ahead during Memorial Day weekend.
