Georgia Democratic State Senator Discusses Mississippi’s Abortion Law

Last month, the nation’s high court agreed to hear arguments regarding a controversial Mississippi law that bans most abortions after 15 weeks.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the law from taking effect, citing it conflicted with Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 1973 that protects a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion. Roe v. Wade has been reaffirmed in subsequent decisions.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” attorney and Georgia Democratic state Sen. Jen Jordan talked with show host Rose Scott about whether or not the Mississippi law could overturn Roe v. Wade and if a similar measure could be passed in Georgia.
