For “(404) Job Not Found,” cultural anthropologist Anuli Akanegbu of Data & Society spent time inside tech conferences, training programs, and community organizations to understand how “AI skills” are defined, taught and valued across metro Atlanta.
Her findings suggest the hype around AI literacy often outpaces real investment in workers, while placing the burden on individuals — especially Black workers — to constantly prove they’re “ready” for an AI-driven future.
