The DeKalb County Commission is extending a moratorium on data center proposals until next summer.

County commissioners voted this week to extend the pause on data center applications until June 2026.

Super District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry said phones have been ringing off the hook from residents about data centers. Terry, the moratorium’s sponsor, said DeKalb County has received over a thousand emails, texts or calls from concerned residents.
