Georgia state senators call for further age verification legislation, app store restrictions for minors

A group of Georgia state senators are calling for further age verification legislation, greater parental control of minors’ app store activity and restrictions on the usage of personal information gathered by tech companies from minors.

The lawmakers are also recommending prohibitions on “addictive” features used by social media companies, and joined other state legislators in calls for extending the current Georgia personal device ban in K-8 schools to high schools.
