Of his Tony- and Pulitzer-winning stage play “Doubt, a Parable,” the playwright John Patrick Shanley has long said, “the last act… takes place after the play is over.”

The provocative, subtle and enduring story of a Catholic nun, priest and possible abuse case in a 1960s Bronx parish has roused debate and reflection since its 2004 premiere. It inspired an Oscar-winning 2008 film adaptation starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Now, Actor’s Express revives “Doubt” with director Freddie Ashley and an Atlanta-based powerhouse actor, Tess Malis Kincaid, in the role of Sister Aloysius. The play is on stage at Actor’s Express, May 22- June 22.
