The Labor Day holiday is approaching and in Atlanta that means the AJC Decatur Book Festival is next weekend.

The nation’s largest independent book festival highlights local and national authors speaking about their latest work in venues throughout Downtown Decatur. Children’s events will begin Aug. 30 and run through Sept. 1.

Throughout the years, they have brought world-class authors and book lovers together in the city of Decatur to celebrate and enjoy all things literary – book signings, author readings, poetry slams, writing workshops and more.

Lois Reitzes sat down with the festival’s director of children’s events, Diane Capriola. She’s also the co-owner of “Little Shop of Stories.”
