The 2026 Georgia legislative session starts on Monday. As lawmakers convene at the Capitol, the ACLU of Georgia and Indivisible Georgia Coalition are part of a larger group encouraging the public to speak directly to lawmakers and address issues happening in their communities.
The ACLU of Georgia, alongside Indivisible Georgia Coalition, is hosting “Pack the Capitol” on Jan. 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Christopher Bruce, the policy director for ACLU of Georgia, and Ayodele Shaihi, the co-convener of the Indivisible Georgia Coalition, were featured guests on “Closer Look.” The pair discussed the upcoming event. Bruce also shared details about the ACLU’s top legislative priorities this session, which include fighting for “comprehensive” civil rights and fighting against the criminalization of abortions after fertilization.
