AJC Peachtree Road Race celebrates 56 years with an expanded experience

The AJC Peachtree Road Race takes place annually on July 4. The race has come a long way in the last 50 years.

The world’s largest 10K is fast approaching. The 56th Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race is being held on  July 4.

Up to 55,000 people are expected to participate in the annual event.

Rich Kenah, who serves as the race director and the CEO of the Atlanta Track Club, was a guest on Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look.”



He told show host Rose Scott that the event is more than a race and it’s about bringing the Atlanta community together.

Kenah further shared details about this year’s expanded race experience, which includes a multi-day celebration and the return of fireworks.

Registration for the race closes on April 30.
